Vespa manufacturer Piaggio just added a new two-wheel vehicle to its line-up; Gita- the autonomous personal cargo carrier.
The Italian-owned company recently opened a Boston-based division, called Piaggio Fast Forward, and has created an autonomous cargo-carrying robot called Gita.
Designed to follow a human operator, the large blue ball comes with a lockable compartment that can carry up to 40 pounds. Gita’s speed tops out at 22pmh and the device can also move autonomously in a mapped environment.
Gita’s design matches Vespa’s stylish and sleek look. You can even customize it with LED lights.
Piaggio Fast Forward has yet to announce any release dates and price, although they are set to conduct pilot tests with businesses around the country this year.
