Bob’s Biker Blast Marks Milestone

Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale and GO AZ Motorcycles have announced details for the 5th Annual Bob’s Biker Blast event to be held Saturday, November 5, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Since 2012, the dealerships, owned by entrepreneur and philanthropist Bob Parsons, have hosted the annual event which serves as both a party for the Arizona riding community as well as a significant fundraiser for Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Prior headliners have included Heart and The Doobie Brothers, but this year the party will have a decidedly country flair, with Montgomery Gentry, Craig Morgan and Kellie Pickler slated to appear.

As in the past, admittance to the concert, held on the track behind GO AZ Motorcycles in Scottsdale and adjacent to Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, is free for those with a motorcycle endorsement. All others pay $20, with all proceeds, including those from sale of the collectable 5th Annual Bob’s Biker Blast t-shirt, going to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Last year, the event raised almost $1.1M, as Parsons took the stage to announce a hefty supplemental donation by The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation.

In addition to the concert, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale will be hosting a full schedule of pre-Blast activities, including a “Light the Fuse” party from 5pm – 9pm on Friday, November 4th. The event will include music from Colorado’s Liver Down the River, food, beverages, and a variety of cowboy-themed carnival games and prizes.

On Saturday, the focus early in the day will be on Phoenix Children’s Hospital as the Harley-Davidson dealership sponsors a “go at your own pace” ride from the hospital to the dealership. Riders are encouraged to pre-register as hundreds typically turn out to support the cause.

Saturday afternoon, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale will have Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters on hand playing the outdoor patio stage, as well as food, refreshments and an appearance by Bug Hall, who recently appeared in the Discovery miniseries “Harley and the Davidsons,” which traced the early history of the Milwaukee-based motor company. Hall portrayed Arthur Davidson, the more sales and marketing-minded Davidson brother and also appeared as Alfalfa in 1994’s “The Little Rascals.”

Tickets may be purchased at the Light the Fuse event Friday night or day-of at the venue. Additionally, VIP tickets will be sold at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale beginning in October, with a limited quantity available for $150 each. VIPs will enjoy raised seating at the track, private bathrooms, two free drinks, VIP parking and other perks, again with all ticket proceeds going to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Leading up to the event, the dealerships are accepting entries for the Bob’s Biker Blast giveaway, the winner of which will be announced by Parsons on stage prior to the headline performance by Montgomery Gentry. One lucky winner will receive a motorcycle of his or her choice, valued at up to $25,000.
